Portrait
For the background of my portrait I decided to do a sort of watercolor wash and I used color, value, and shape in this. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do at first but as I mixed the colors together they reminded me of bubbles so I went ahead and did some line work with the bubbles and gave them outlines just because I thought they looked too subtle. I later went ahead and added some splattering in the piece, I also outlined those just so it could blend well with the rest of the piece.
For my portrait I decided to use the same picture I used for my other portrait piece only that this time I decided to draw it with a thin tip marker directly on the paper, I decided to not incorporate my facial features just because I like the look of that, it sort of gives the sense of mystery but you can still tell its me. Instead of the features I created a pattern where there's skin showing so on my face, my neck, and my arms. I like the though behind thing because I kind of wanted it to portray that meaning of knowing who I am but still not fully knowing who I will become and what the future holds for me so once again bringing in that aspect of mystery. Lastly instead of drawing legs I cut the image at my torso and instead I created droplets almost like slime for the element texture.
Over all I think I like how my piece turned out considering I have no idea whereI was going with it, I think I puled piece by piece and it turned out just kind of working together but overall I had a lot of fun, it was something more relaxing I feel like and something that we could have more freedom with.
I really liked the bubbles as your background of your piece. I enjoy the minimalism of the bubbles and the use of blues and purples. I also like how you kept the face blank and the meaning behind it. I think that is super cool and it is super calming.
