Portrait
For the background of my portrait I decided to do a sort of watercolor wash and I used color, value, and shape in this. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do at first but as I mixed the colors together they reminded me of bubbles so I went ahead and did some line work with the bubbles and gave them outlines just because I thought they looked too subtle. I later went ahead and added some splattering in the piece, I also outlined those just so it could blend well with the rest of the piece. For my portrait I decided to use the same picture I used for my other portrait piece only that this time I decided to draw it with a thin tip marker directly on the paper, I decided to not incorporate my facial features just because I like the look of that, it sort of gives the sense of mystery but you can still tell its me.
